I wanted to remember what I felt like when I first loved Miku Hatsune.
It was a warm, summer day on Facebook in 2009. A friend of mine kept posting these elaborate pictures of Miku, Rin and Len, but I didn't know who they were yet. I asked her if this was from a new anime, because the art was simply put, amazing.
She laughed and said "No, this is all just fan art for Vocaloid."
When I Googled the word, the first thing that popped up was Wikipedia. They had up a clip of Miku singing "Sakura Sakura" which is an old Japanese folk song.
Her sweet voice was all I needed. I was hooked. Addicted if you will. That winter, I taught myself MikuMikuDance and never looked back.
I wanted that same feeling all over again. That sweet innocence that reminds me of why I love Vocaloid so much.
JonSu had the answer. He invented Halfne, a simple, online animation tool. You can check it out here.
